専用コミュニティに参加した上で、Android 4.4.xでのみ利用可能だったOffice Previewですが、今回Google Playストアに一般公開され、誰でも利用可能になりました。

対応端末は7～10.1インチのARM SoCを搭載したAndroid 4.4.x～5.0.xのタブレット。Lollipopにも対応しました。

Microsoft Excel Preview - Google Play
Microsoft PowerPoint Preview - Google Play
閲覧・編集・新規作成などを無料で利用可能。
正式版になった後は、Office for iPadと同じように、一部の高度な機能はOffice 365のサブスクリプションで利用可能になることでしょう。
正式版の公開もそう遠くなさそうですね。
